Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday that he’s in a “quandary” about whether to vote for Sonia Sotomayor’s Supreme Court nomination.
“I naturally want to support whoever is president,” Hatch told POLITICO. “She has a great personal story, she has a lot of witnesses for her, but there are a lot of things that really bother me about her.” [Emphasis added]
Asked if that meant he was leaning towards opposing the nomination, Hatch said, “No, I can’t say either way right now. I am just really in a quandary. Naturally I reserve the right to vote either way. There were some things that really troubled me about her testimony.”
Hatch’s vote carries political risks since he would be vilified by the right if he votes yes — but it could also could also help ingratiate the GOP with Latinos. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) praised the nominee Thursday, saying she had assuaged his concerns but stopped just short of saying he’d support her.
Asked if he could be the lone Republican to back her on the committee that is split between 12 Democrats and seven Republicans, Hatch said: “I don’t think so, but I don’t know. . . . I don’t let that bother me, I do what I think is right.”
What exactly do you think is “right,” Senator Hatch? There’s no question what’s right here. Sotomayor has clearly shown a callous disregard for the Constitution. Her attempts to legislate against gun owners from the bench should be enough to earn a “No” vote from Mr. Hatch.
Couple her anti-gun views with her blatant and celebrated racism, the decision to vote against her confirmation should be easy.
However, Mr. Hatch seems to be only interested in curry favor with the media and the ruling elites in Washington.
Utah residents who have a spare backbone lying around should consider donating it to Mr. Hatch. Please call Senator Hatch’s office and tell him to grow a backbone and stand up for gun owners. Tell him to vote NO on Sotomayor.

We would love to vote all the creeps out of both houses, but our delemma is that there really aren’t any in the wings waiting to take over. We want Gov Palin to run for the presidency in 2012 and we need to know those that will back her up once she gets in and we need to know prior to 2010. In almost every posting I have found glaring grammatical errors. Don’t worry, I make them myself when I really get upset about a particular subject (as I am about Barack Hussein). In the oath that you took you swore to protect and defend the Constitution. Reading just a little bit of Sotomayor’s record shows that she is most certainly not able nor willing to support and defend it.
We need you to exercise your power to make sure that Ms Sotomayor is NOT approved by the Senate. That is your job. To validate the nominees not to rubber stamp accept them.

Orin Hatch sold out to the left years ago. He got the Hatch Amendment passed into law. That required schools to inform parents about what their children were being taught.
It was ignored by the schools. I called Hatch’s office to ask how this could happen. A staff member told me that as a conservative Hatch had to avoid getting involved in state issues.
A federal law protecting parents and children from leftist indoctrination and the author of the law can’t question its violation? I have had no use for Hatch since then.

I just called and left a message at the office of Mr. Hatch. I really hope he understands what is at stake. I know that a ton of political pressure (i.e. we won’t work with you if you don’t play…) is being applied, but this is one time where I would like to see the political party push back and say, “I need to do what is right for the people…”

Senator Orrin Hatch, are you really such a self serving, disgrace for a man. I can only figure that you, along with all of the other so called Republican conservatives that know what is right and just but vote away our rights and freedoms are being black-mailed by someone in the Democratic Party and the media (same thing) to vote for this racist woman.
Is it a sex scandle sir? Money scandle? Come, come now, you cannot possibly believe that this woman is fit for any public office can you? After those racist remarks? Words mean things sir and I have heard all of the BS that govt. people like you have tried to say in an attempt to explain away her hatefull beliefs and it is pure lies, and treason. Us poor, dear, simple, stupid American’s that just are not intelligent enough to understand the complexities of the federal government. What filthy lies you are living and diservice to America you are doing all while holding an office of honor and sworn durty to SERVE AMERICA! All American’s. White’s included.
Sotomayor’s remarks are ample proof that she is a racist, and does not adhere to the constitution of the U.S. that was written for all people. Including white people. I am white and I am sick of the minority issues as America sinks into a depression and the nation sinks into crisis after crisis, many invented such as global warming, as the federal government, currently led by a man that has little truth in him, enslaves its people.
I refuse to adhere, respect, or give credibility to terms such as minority (as used to describe certain races of people), hate crimes, or any other conotation that seperates, distinguishes, or otherwise tries to recognize certain races or groups of people and any crimes that are committed against them as being some how different or more important than another race of people.
You know I am right. But you deisre your office so much that you will allow any hatefull legislation and hatefull people like Sotomayor to serve in our government just so you can keep your seat in office. A very high paying, very desired office with all of the power and perks that go with it. This government, America, was created by the people, for the people, and you work for us. I think it is time for you to leave. Or do what that traitor Specter did and switch sides. Your a RINO so go ahead and change sides. You will feel better and so will the rest of the conservatives in America. We don’t want mindless bleeding hearts like you that trade away the salt of America for the dung of outside influences.
I, my wife, and my son, are white and we demand that we be treated equally and fairly under the laws of this nation. That woman is a racist and she should be forced to endure endless hours of government created sensativity training (normally worthless but good for her) so she can develop a better attitude towards all people, white people included, the same way any white person would have to go through had one of us made the same hatefull and racist remarks that Sotomayor made.
Give me a Jefferson, nothing less, but a Jefferson type man for president that believed that government should be kept on a short leash, jerked twice or more each day so that those that were serving as President, Senator, Congressman, etc… would know and remember whom they answered to. Few men and women in the federal government today can measure up to that man. Very few.
And he also believed as I do that we do not need to change the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to change our ways and thinking to adhere to it as closely as is humanly possible, praying all the time to God for guidance and help, the only one, true and living God of the King James bible, for guidance and instruction. Then and only then can we ever hope to save America.
That is how this country was founded, built, and developed and anyone that doesn’t like is free to leave. And I mean that sincerely. Leave if you do not like GOD, or freedom for all races, states rights, etc… get on a boat, a plane, or swim but, get the hell out of America becuase that is who we are.
The only Amendments (changes) I agree with in the U.S. Constitution are the those that allow women and all races that become U.S. citizens, the right to vote, own land, live free, etc… Other than that, we need to go back to our roots and reclaim America. States rights to break away from the Union must be respected if they so desire. Otherwise we have no freedom, no rights, and no free enterprise.
You know it, you know I am right, but somewhere along the way you just lost sight of who you are and what America is. Why not stand up and fight for freedom again. Get on the side of the rightous, those of us that believe that everyone has a right to be here and become a citizen if they do it according to the laws of our country, but they have to understand that we have federal holidays like Christmas, that America was founded on the belief in a God, and more strongly, the God as recognized in the King James bible, we are not a nation of Islam but of Christians, and that if they don’t like it they can leave. Free to leave whenever they want to. That’s a better deal than where most non-native born American’s will get from their countries of origin.

Chuck aka “the Chuckster” Grassley is “whinning a doleful song” about how he “just cannot make up his mind on her.” Any gunowner from Iowa that doesn’t contact his office and tell him that he should not support SS’s nomination is remiss in their patriotic duty.
I told his staffer that I would never vote for him again if he voted to confirm her . . . you could have cut the silence with a knife on the other end of the phone!!
The best thing that could happen is for Sotomayor to not be confirmed. That is why Obama chose her! She is as far left and racist on top of that, as one can be.
